Technical support engineers for Pre-Sales activities and After-Sales Services in Australia report to head of technical support HQ and dot-line report to APAC Sales Director.

 

The Role

Hoymiles is looking for an engineer to join the team as the company grows. This could be based in Melbourne, with working in the office most of the time and traveling around occasionally.

 

Key responsibilities

  1. Responsible for tele- and on-site technical support and pre & after sales support.
  2. Commissioning, troubleshooting, firmware/hardware updating of PV micro-inverter, hybrid/storage inverter and BESS.
  3. Reporting and following up with the head office in relation to product failure with clear descriptions.
  4. Evaluating PV plants’ performance by studying operation data on a regular basis.
  5. Work Proactively and closely with installers & retailers and provide them with best-in-class customer experience.
  6. Regular follow-ups on technical issues and build a healthy relationship with installers & retailers.

 

Required experience and competence:

  1. Based in Melbourne and can accept national and international travel to make sure the local service team delivers good service, depending on business request.
  2. Bachelor’s degree or above: must have electrical or electronics background.
  3. At least 1 year of professional experience in working with inverter technologies, e.g. R&D, service, pre- and after-sales, string inverters industry preferred.
  4. Strong ability to analyze and solve problems on your own.
  5. Self-driven working mindset, willing to dig in and find problems, report with clear logic, always providing multi proposals to choose from.
  6. International mindset for a multi-cultural environment.
  7. Excellent communication skills.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

  1. Collaborate with the sales team to plan and complete technical exchanges with Europe customers, train clients and set forth detailed technical solutions, etc.
  2. Hold customer trainings face-to-face and online, create and manage local technical documentation, establish a knowledge database, and represent Hoymiles in exhibitions.
  3. Analyze legal technical requirements and certifications for specific countries as needed and assist the certification process.
  4. Monitor the market environment and gather technological information from competitors. Analyze products and features of competitors regularly and work closely with HQ team to finish the competitive analysis.
  5. Provide support to the sales team, visit clients and project sites, support system planning and give guidance on PV system installations, service strategy implementation etc.
  6. Maintain the service level and fulfill service requests coming from local customers, especially our VIP customers.
  7. Lead the negotiation with local service partners including 3rd party service companies, logistic and warehouse vendors, manage the contract with local service partners including but not limited to draft, re-new, and termination.
  8. Follow the RMA process to make sure it is closed on time.
  9. Improve the quality of local service including technical guidance, service response time, spare unit pool management, faulty unit disposal, and total costs.

 

Required experience and competence:

  3. Lead the negotiation with local service partners including 3rd party service companies, logistic and warehouse vendors, manage the contract with local service partners including but not limited to draft, re-new, and termination.
  4. Follow the RMA process to make sure it is closed on time.
  5. Improve the quality of local service including technical guidance, service response time, spare unit pool management, faulty unit disposal, and total costs.
  6. Provide service reports to HQ on a regular basis.

Pre-sales:

  1. Collaborate with the sales team to plan and complete technical exchanges with Brazil customers, train clients, and set forth detailed technical solutions, etc.
  2. Prepare presentations, technical explanations and bidding documents to maintain customer satisfaction and service level.
  3. Analyze legal technical requirements and certifications for specific countries as needed and assist the certification process.
  4. Monitor the market environment and provide information on competitors.
  5. Analyze products and features of competitors regularly and work closely with HQ team to finish the competitive analysis.
  6. Provide support to the sales team, visit clients and project sites, support system planning and give guidance on PV system installations, service strategy implementation etc.
  7. Coordinate with the sales team to organize training sessions and attend exhibitions.

 

Required experience and competence:

  1. Based in Dallas and can accept national and international travel to make sure the local service team delivers good service, depending on business request.
  2. HBO diploma in an Electro-technical direction and/or a qualified education in the solar energy industry.
  3. At least 3 years of technical background work experience, renewable energy industry preferred.
  4. At least 1 year of professional experience in working with inverter technologies, e.g. R&D, service, pre- and after-sales, string inverters industry preferred.
  5. Self-driven working mindset, willing to dig in and find problems, report with clear logic, and always provide multiple proposals to choose from.
  6. International mindset for a multi-cultural environment.
  7. Fluent in English.
