  • Q:
What is the Hoymiles HiOne all-in-one system?
    A:

The Hoymiles HiOne All-in-One BESS is an integrated residential energy storage solution that combines key energy management components into one system. It brings together solar energy generation, battery storage, and intelligent energy management to help homeowners optimize energy use and improve energy independence.

  • Q:
How does the HiOne home battery system work?
    A:

HiOne works with a compatible solar PV system to coordinate solar generation, battery charging and household electricity consumption. Excess solar energy can be stored in the battery and used later when solar generation is lower, such as in the evening. Actual performance depends on system configuration, weather conditions and household energy use.

  • Q:
Can the HiOne system work with my existing rooftop solar panels?
    A:

HiOne is designed for residential solar and storage applications. Whether it can be integrated with your existing rooftop solar system depends on your current inverter, PV system configuration and the selected HiOne model. Consult a qualified installer to confirm compatibility before installation.

  • Q:
Is HiOne suitable for Australian homes with high solar generation?
    A:

HiOne can help households store surplus solar energy that might otherwise be exported to the grid. This can be useful for homes with substantial daytime solar generation and evening electricity consumption. The right battery capacity depends on your solar output, daily energy usage and preferred level of backup.

  • Q:
Is the HiOne All-in-One BESS easy to install?
    A:

Yes. HiOne features a plug-and-play design and wire-free battery stacking to simplify installation. The standard installation process can take as little as 15 minutes for battery stacking, cable connections and cloud commissioning under suitable conditions. Actual installation time depends on site conditions, electrical work and system configuration. Electrical installation must be performed by appropriately qualified professionals.

  • Q:
Can HiOne help reduce my electricity bills in Australia?
    A:

HiOne can help households increase solar self-consumption by storing excess daytime solar generation for use when electricity demand is higher or solar production is lower. Depending on your electricity plan, it may also help you manage time-of-use tariffs. Actual savings depend on your tariff, feed-in rate, energy usage, system size and operating settings.

  • Q:
Can HiOne provide backup power during a blackout?
    A:

HiOne can support home backup applications when installed with the required compatible backup equipment and configured appropriately. The circuits and appliances supported during an outage depend on the system design, available battery energy, inverter output and local product specifications. Ask your installer to confirm which essential loads can be backed up.

  • Q:
Does HiOne require complex commissioning, and what tools are needed for installation?
    A:

HiOne supports cloud-based intelligent commissioning through the S-Miles Cloud/App, reducing the need for complex manual setup. Its automatic self-inspection function can detect approximately 90% of common installation faults during commissioning, including reversed CT connections, loose cables and abnormal grid-connected parameters, and provide real-time alerts.

The standard package includes accessories such as mounting brackets, expansion screws, positioning plates and communication cables. Typical tools include a tape measure, level, electric drill, torque wrench, wire stripper and multimeter. Qualified installers should follow the official installation manual and applicable Australian requirements.

  • Q:
What safety protections are built into the HiOne hybrid inverter?
    A:

HiOne integrates multiple electrical safety protections, including arc-fault circuit interruption (AFCI), anti-islanding protection, PV reverse-polarity protection, residual current monitoring, AC overvoltage and undervoltage protection, short-circuit protection, and Type II DC and AC surge protection. These built-in features help support safe system operation. The final installation must also comply with applicable Australian electrical and grid connection requirements.

  • Q:
How much solar PV capacity can the HiOne hybrid inverter support?
    A:

The recommended maximum PV input power depends on the inverter model. The 12 kW single-phase model supports up to 24 kW of recommended PV input power, while the 20 kW three-phase model supports up to 40 kW. The series supports up to four MPPTs, with input current ratings of up to 18 A per channel for single-phase models and 20 A per channel for three-phase models. Maximum PV voltage is 600 V for single-phase models and 1,000 V for three-phase models. Installers must verify all electrical limits against the specific model datasheet.
