  • Q:
Can I expand the HiOne battery capacity in the future?
    A:

Yes. HiOne features a stackable battery design, allowing compatible systems to expand as household energy needs change. With up to eight 8 kWh battery packs per inverter, the supported storage capacity can reach 64 kWh. The integrated DC-DC optimizer supports mixed use of new and existing batteries within supported configurations. Always follow Hoymiles' battery compatibility and expansion guidelines.

  • Q:
How much battery storage capacity does the HiOne system support?
    A:

Each HiOne battery pack has a nominal capacity of 8 kWh. A single inverter can support up to eight stacked battery packs, allowing system capacity to scale from 8 kWh to 64 kWh, subject to model compatibility and approved configurations. This flexibility helps installers size a system around different household energy consumption and storage needs.

  • Q:
What power ratings are available in the HiOne series?
    A:

The HiOne series includes single-phase models rated from 3.6 kW to 12 kW and three-phase models rated from 8 kW to 20 kW.

Available single-phase ratings include 3.6 kW, 4.6 kW, 5 kW, 6 kW, 8 kW, 10 kW and 12 kW. Three-phase ratings include 8 kW, 10 kW, 12 kW, 16 kW and 20 kW. Availability varies by market, so check the Australian product range for the models offered locally.

  • Q:
How much space does the HiOne All-in-One BESS require?
    A:

HiOne integrates the inverter, battery and energy management system into one compact unit, with a product thickness of just 255 mm. Compared with traditional split energy storage systems, it can save more than 20% of floor space and 50% of wall space, making it suitable for space-conscious residential installations. Actual installation space requirements depend on the model and required clearances.

  • Q:
Can HiOne be installed outdoors in Australia?
    A:

HiOne models with an IP66 rating are designed to provide a high level of protection against dust and water ingress. The specified operating temperature range is -20°C to +55°C, with relative humidity of 0–95% without condensation and an installation altitude of up to 4,000 metres. The system should be positioned away from flammable or corrosive substances and heat sources, with adequate ventilation and heat dissipation. Always confirm the selected model's installation requirements before choosing an outdoor location.

  • Q:
Can the HiOne system be wall-mounted or floor-standing?
    A:

Yes. The HiOne series supports both wall-mounted and floor-standing installation. With an IP66 protection rating, it is designed for demanding installation environments. Installers should follow the model-specific installation manual for mounting, clearances, ventilation and environmental requirements.

  • Q:
How many daisy-chain microinverters can be installed in a single branch?
    A:

This depends on the power and model you choose. Basically, the higher the power, the fewer in a single branch. The number could range anywhere from 3 to 19. You can refer to the datasheet for more information.

  • Q:
I’ve installed a PV hybrid system. Can I integrate the microinverter system with it?
    A:

Our HMS/HMT-series products can do this. Click here  for more information.

  • Q:
Do your products include a warranty?
    A:

Yes. For the North American region, we provide a 25-year warranty period for our microinverters.

  • Q:
Can I install my own non-plug&play microinverter?
    A:

Microinverters should only be installed by qualified professionals.
