Tackling Energy Challenges in a Tropical Coastal Environment
Located in Nha Trang, Vietnam, the Horizon Hotel operates in one of the country’s most popular coastal tourism destinations. However, the hotel’s location also presents unique energy challenges: high temperatures, humidity, salt spray exposure, and increasing electricity costs.
For hospitality businesses operating around the clock, maintaining a stable power supply while controlling operational costs is critical. Traditional energy storage systems can struggle in harsh coastal environments due to heat management limitations, corrosion risks, and increased maintenance requirements. Meanwhile, peak electricity prices and grid fluctuations further add pressure to daily operations.
To support the hotel’s transition toward cleaner and more efficient energy use, Hoymiles worked with local partner SolarTrust to deploy a customized energy storage solution using the HoyUltra 261A C&I All-in-One Battery System.
The project integrates a 500 kW / 1.044 MWh energy storage system, designed to deliver reliable performance in demanding coastal conditions while helping the hotel improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.
SolarTrust is Hoymiles’ distributor and is also the first one who deployed HoyUltra 261A in Vietnam.

Solution
Built for Extreme Conditions with Advanced Liquid Cooling Technology
Unlike conventional air-cooling systems, the independent liquid cooling architecture of HoyUltra 261A provides precise temperature control for each battery cell group, maintaining a temperature difference of less than 2°C across the battery system. This helps reduce thermal stress, improve battery consistency, and extend service life by up to 20% compared with conventional solutions.
Even under extreme conditions, such as in summer when temperatures reaches 50°C, the system maintains stable operation and protects battery performance from the heat, humidity, and coastal corrosion.
The integrated cabinet design provides multi-layer environmental protection, featuring:
IP55 protection for the complete system cabinet
IP65 protection for the PCS module
IP67 protection for the battery module
Optional C5 corrosion-resistant cabinet for coastal applications
These features ensure long-term reliability in challenging outdoor environments.
Quiet Operation for Premium Hospitality Environments
For hotels and resorts, energy solutions must deliver performance without affecting guest experience.
The HoyUltra 261A is designed for low-noise operation, with noise levels as low as 60 dB. Its liquid cooling system optimizes heat exchange efficiency while reducing airflow-related noise. Additional vibration isolation structures further minimize mechanical noise during operation.
As a result, the hotel can benefit from clean energy storage while maintaining a quiet and comfortable environment for guests.
Smart Energy Management to Reduce Operating Costs
With integrated smart meters and an Energy Management System (EMS), the HoyUltra 261A automatically adjusts charging and discharging strategies based on electricity demand and tariff conditions.
The system stores energy during lower-cost periods and supplies power during peak demand periods, helping the hotel:
Reduce peak electricity consumption
Improve renewable energy utilization
Lower electricity costs
Increase energy independence
With a round-trip efficiency of up to 90.3%, the system maximizes the value of every kilowatt-hour generated and stored.
