In Henan Province, China, the 45MW/133MWh user-side energy storage project developed by Zhengzhou Faxiang Power of Songji Group has officially been connected to the grid. At the heart of the system lies Hoymiles' HPCS1250N liquid-cooling centralized power conversion system (PCS), which enables the power station to achieve multiple goals:

    • Reducing electricity costs for industrial users

    • Enhancing responsiveness to grid dispatching

    • Improving regional power stability

    • Maximizing system efficiency and minimizing land usage

The project exemplifies the growing demand for user-side energy storage in China, driven by widening peak-valley electricity price gaps and market reforms.

The Hoymiles HPCS1250N PCS brings a combination of advanced thermal management, grid compatibility, and high integration—all essential for industrial user-side applications.

    • Advanced liquid-cooling technology built for harsh environments

      • Innovative liquid-cooling architecture allows the PCS to operate continuously at 1.1× rated power at 45°C ambient temperature, without derating at 50°C, and reliably operate at up to 60°C.

      • Efficient cooling system and thermal distribution module make sure the temperature difference between IGBT modules is less than 2°C, ensuring greater component lifespan and system stability

    • Compact design, lower land use

      • Each storage module consists of two HPCS1250N units which were deployed between the energy storage system and the grid. Each HPCS is paired with two 3,720 kWh battery compartments, forming a 2.5 MW/7.4 MWh storage module.

      • Thanks to high power density, each PCS occupies less than 1 m², saving over 20% of land area compared to traditional setups

    • Smart grid support and fast respons

      • Enables advanced grid services including peak shaving, frequency regulation, and power compensation.

      • Millisecond-level power response makes the project ready for better participation in the electricity market.

  • Their Success

The Zhengzhou Faxiang Power project highlights Hoymiles’ ability to deliver market-ready user-side storage solutions that combine high reliability with real economic benefits.

China’s user-side storage market is expanding rapidly, accounting for nearly 70% of new project filings in H1 2024 based on the estimates of CNESA DataLink. In response to the trend, Hoymiles is accelerating its deployment of competitive products including the HPCS series of centralized PCS and HIM series of PCS-MV stations for customized and large-scale application scenarios, contributing to the clean energy transition of the world.
