In the windswept plains of Zhangbei in Hebei Province, Hoymiles recently embarked on a journey to harness the wind power, helping connect a landmark 150 MW/300 MWh energy storage station to the grid as part of a 1 GW wind power project. This breakthrough not only enhances local grid flexibility but also drives the region's clean energy transition forward.

Their Story
Located at an altitude between 1,400 and 1,600 meters, Zhangbei County is known for its harsh, dry climate, extreme cold, and frequent sandstorms, making it a challenging environment for renewable energy operations. Despite its abundant wind resources, the variability of wind and solar energy posed a major challenge to grid stability and energy delivery.
To fully leverage the renewable potential and stabilize the energy output, local stakeholders needed an energy storage solution capable of peak shaving, frequency regulation, and smoothing the fluctuating generation patterns. The goal was clear: support grid operations and enhance the large-scale integration of renewables into the energy mix.

Their Solution
Hoymiles answered the call with its cutting-edge HoyPrime all-liquid-cooled energy storage solution. At the heart of the project are multiple 3.44 MW/6.88 MWh storage units, paired with Hoymiles’ HIM3450MV all-in-one liquid cooling PCS.

High-altitude and extreme weather resilience, operating in temperatures from -35°C to 60°C.
Exceptional performance under day-night temperature fluctuations, with minimal IGBT temperature difference of just 2°C to enhance reliability and lifespan.
IP65 protection & C5 corrosion resistance: Engineered to withstand harsh conditions, such as extreme temperatures and sandstorms.
Fast-response, millisecond-level grid adaptation for seamless renewable integration.
Modular design for space-saving integration and easy scalability: Compared to traditional systems, it saves more than 20% of land area for the same capacity setup. The system is also easily expandable to meet future capacity needs.
Safety prioritized at every level: The HoyPrime containerized battery incorporates multi-layer insulation, four-stage short-circuit protection (from cell to combiner level), and a triple-layer firefighting system featuring PACK-level, container-level, and sprinkler protections to ensure operational security.
