In Haining, a zero-carbon manufacturing initiative sought to power a factory sustainably using green energy. To achieve this, a 2.17 MWp distributed photovoltaic power plant was built using Hoymiles MiT-5000-8E microinverters, optimizing energy from solar panels across a 20,000 m² rooftop. This solution generates 2.08 million kWh of clean energy annually, cutting emissions and advancing industrial sustainability.

Story:A wave of change
Industrial manufacturing is responsible for one-fifth of the world’s carbon emissions. It means that reducing the carbon footprint of industrial manufacturing facilities is a powerful step forward in the battle against climate change. Nestled alongside the Qiantang River, the Chinese city of Haining is on the frontlines of this battle. And, much like the soaring tide of the Qiantang River, a wave of green energy innovation is sweeping through Haining, transforming the region’s industrial landscape. The city is home to an increasing number of zero-carbon factories. Hoymiles helped establish one of these facilities, creating a zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing system for a sustainable future – and greater productivity.

Solution: Truly sustainable power
Hoymiles provided commercial and industrial (C&I) microinverter solutions to create a distributed photovoltaic (PV) power plant. The power plant covers a rooftop area of 20,000 square meters, supplying the factory with approximately 2.08 million kWh of clean, green power per year.
It’s enough energy for the factory to run at full power for over 1,010 hours.
It has an installed capacity of 2.17 MWp, using Hoymiles’ MiT-5000-8E microinverters. Additionally, it runs on a self-consumption power model, sending any surplus power back to the main grid.

Solution: The reliable partner for commercial and industrial solar power
The Hoymiles MiT three-phase microinverter is indispensable for commercial and industrial solar power:
Powerful and efficient– It has up to 5,000 W of output power and a peak efficiency of 97.4%, generating enough power to supply the manufacturing facility in Haining.
Safer and stable – It keeps the DC-side voltage below120V/140V, eliminating the risk of electric shocks and fires caused by high-voltage DC arcing.
Adaptable– The microinverter has an 8-in-1 design, which allows PV modules to be placed in more difficult environments, since each module works independently without affecting the whole system. The maximum input current of 20 A makes it compatible with mainstream high-power solar panels.
Reduces energy loss– Each of the four input ports of the MiT is designed to extract the most power possible, ensuring efficiency and reducing energy loss.
Durable – It’s built to last throughout the 25-year service life of PV systems, so you don’t need to replace it during that period. And it’s IP67 and C5 anti-corrosion grade, ensuring safe and stable operation in extreme conditions. It’s even able to withstand a temperature range of -40℃to 65℃.
Intelligent monitoring – With the S-Miles Cloud platform, it’s possible to monitor the power of each input to improve performance, minimize wasted energy, and quickly identify the location of a fault, if there are any issues.

Success
“Compared to traditional energy sources, this power plant is expected to save 630 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 2,061 tons every year.”
With Hoymiles’ advanced microinverter technology, the power plant was able to supply the manufacturing facility with enough energy while cutting costs and protecting the environment.
A true win-win.
