As Vietnam’s commercial sector continues to embrace renewable energy, businesses are increasingly looking for solutions that can not only reduce electricity costs but also ensure a more reliable power supply. Hoymiles’ integrated PV and battery energy storage solution is helping commercial customers achieve greater energy independence and optimize energy use.
Aloha Doan Hung is one example of this transition in action. Delivered in close collaboration with BKE Vietnam, Hoymiles’ authorized partner in Vietnam and its first local partner, the project received end-to-end support from site survey and system design to construction supervision, commissioning, and operation training. Thanks to its outstanding operational performance, the project was also featured by VTV, Vietnam’s national broadcaster, highlighting the growing recognition of Hoymiles’ microinverter and commercial energy storage solutions in the local market.

Story
Reliable Power Matters as Businesses Face Rising Energy Costs and Unstable Grids
Located in Doan Hung, Phu Tho Province, the Aloha Doan Hung commercial facility sought to reduce electricity costs while improving operational reliability.
Like many businesses in rural Vietnam, the site experiences frequent grid instability and occasional power outages, creating risks for daily operations. At the same time, local regulations require commercial PV systems to prevent excess electricity from being exported back to the grid, making effective energy management even more important.
To maximize the value of its rooftop solar investment while ensuring regulatory compliance, the project required an integrated PV and battery storage solution capable of optimizing self-consumption, providing backup power, and intelligently managing energy flows.

Combining Safe Microinverters with Intelligent Energy Storage
To address these challenges, Thai Hung Co., Ltd. deployed a 155 kWp rooftop PV system powered by Hoymiles MIT-5000-8T microinverters, together with a 261 kWh HoyUltra 261A battery energy storage system (BESS).

The microinverter architecture enhances system safety through low-voltage DC design while enabling flexible and reliable rooftop deployment. Meanwhile, the integrated HoyUltra 261A BESS stores excess solar generation for later use and supplies backup power whenever grid interruptions occur.
To comply with Vietnam's grid regulations while maximizing economic returns, the system was configured with:
Zero Export to prevent electricity from feeding into the utility grid
Peak Shaving to reduce electricity demand during high-tariff periods
Smart energy storage to increase solar self-consumption and reduce reliance on grid electricity
The entire system is monitored remotely through the S-Miles Cloud platform, allowing operators to track system performance and manage energy usage in real time.

Lower Energy Costs, Greater Reliability, and Smarter Energy Management
Since its commissioning in July 2026, the PV-plus-storage system has enabled the Aloha Doan Hung project to achieve multiple operational and economic benefits.
l Reduced electricity costs by approximately 30% by maximizing solar self-consumption, storing excess daytime generation, and reducing electricity purchases during peak-price periods.
l Lowered annual carbon emissions by an estimated 140–160 tons of CO₂, supporting the customer's sustainability goals.
l Maintained uninterrupted business operations during grid outages with reliable backup power from the HoyUltra 261A BESS.
At the same time, the Zero Export function ensures compliance with Vietnam's grid connection requirements under Decree 135/2024/ND-CP, allowing the customer to maximize solar utilization without exporting electricity to the utility network.

Backed by Hoymiles' reliable products and comprehensive commissioning support, and supported by BKE Vietnam's expertise in site survey, system design, and construction supervision, the project demonstrates how close collaboration between technology providers and local partners can deliver safer, more resilient, and more cost-effective energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers in Vietnam.
